I painted this young lady twice. Her first portrait is number 11. She asked me if I would be willing to paint her portrait for private reasons and I was happy to oblige, curious in how I would interpret the same subject twice. I think the difference between them is quite striking. It’s obvious my perception of her charged significantly during the months in between the sittings, the 2019/2020 school year was rough on so many levels, and he added experience shows on her face. She likes this painting better than the first, so it’s the one I used in the final display. . I like the previous one better, because it reminds me of my first interactions I had with her at OCAC, and her youthful imagination...she looks like one of the faery folk I like to imagine. I know we all have to grow up, but adulthood can be overrated and I know my subject would agree with me on that. ❤
