I’m completely in love with this portrait! For me, the sitter represents the courage to speak one’s mind untampered with the filtered finesse that a bougie upbringing and a little age often bring. There is a bite to this woman that my compulsive desire to please will never achieve. I admire it. We need more people like her. But don’t mistake her courage for lack of caring. I suspect she probably cares a lot more than us sensitive types. She backs up her caring with action.
