Image Description

A still life original oil painting of opalescent fruit, flowers, and antiques. This vibrant still life is painted in a style inspired by French Impressionism by contemporary fine artist Talya Johnson.

Behind the Canvas

Warmly lit from indoors with cool light reflections hinting at the presence of an unseen north facing window, this still life painting is filled with interest and lively color. Enjoy this still life arrangement of spring flowers displayed proudly on a wooden table with a variety of textures and sheen from an assortment of items. A red apple, a green apple, and an orange bounce their light to and fro with a sentimental candle stick holding a lit candle. A copper cup hides behind the folds of a luxurious table cloth, while a mysterious treasure chest stands guard in back. Will the mirror hung behind the arrangement give clues to the artist studio just behind? Unlikely, though the reflection on the wall tells us that certainly the studio enjoys a bit of welcomed natural light.
