I had this fellow as a classmate in my 3D Object Foundation class. It was a terrifying class for me, because I’m not great at thinking three dimensionally, understanding space. We were assigned to work in a group together and I was surprised at the synergy created by our random little crew. On the outside, we had very little in common. But from then on, I tried to always be grouped for projects with him. For whatever reason his communication style and work ethic complemented my own in a way I don’t experience very often.

Painting him took on a similar note. Everything was easy and the longer we were together the more ideas started to bounce back and forth with an increasing energy and momentum. My mind was just racing with interesting thoughts and ideas while I was painting him. I was as surprised as anyone at the end of our two hours to see a perfectly acceptable portrait of him on my easel. Instinct must have completely take over while my mind was so occupied with the conversation.
